What Is  Recruiter

A recruiter is someone who finds qualified, dedicated and invested candidates for a job vacancy, and works to meet the demands of both the employer and the employee. Each applicant is screened to see if they meet the minimum requirements for the advertised job. The recruiter will review the applicant’s credentials, and evaluate them based on their professional presence, their punctuality, interviewing skills, and other determining factors. (1)

Recruiters can help job seekers prepare for the interview, polish up a resume and even coach them to ace the interview. What many people don’t realize is that recruiters work on behalf of our clients; they tell me the job they need filled and I search for talented people to do the work. Some of these openings are easy to fill, others require months of work to find just the right person.(2) Calling any recruiter to “SELL YOURSELF” is not a good idea, concentrate on your resume, CV and marketing materials.

What Is A Contract Recruiter

Contract recruiters are recruitment professionals who work on a contract basis. Usually this takes the form of an hourly wage or fixed bid project for a set amount of time during an uptick in hiring demand. This type of recruiter can be seen as a recruiting consultant who works with a company on a short-term basis to get their hiring needs met. When all job openings have been filled and the company is satisfied with their new employees, then the contract is over and the recruiter can move on to the next job. Contingency recruiters generally keep their contacts, talent pool and qualified candidates with them as they move from company to company. They are the “hired guns” of the recruiting world.(3)

What Is Recruitment Process Outsourcing

The Recruitment Process Outsourcing Association (RPOA) defines RPO as “a form of business process outsourcing where an employer transfers all or part of its recruitment processes to an external provider. Recruitment Process Outsourcing providers can manage the entire recruiting/hiring process, or can manage one or two aspects of the process, essentially serving as an extension of the company’s human resources department”. This definition illustrates that RPO services are not outsourcing in the traditional sense, as working with an RPO provider is much more consultative and customizable than normal recruiting.(4)

Outsourcing business processes is not new, but it is for the recruiting of talent.  Recruitment Process Outsourcing is not remote recruiting or giving your recruiting responsibilities away to someone else. In other words hiring a Recruiter is not replacing your in-house recruiting team, but just an extension.  According to the IRS, a Contract Recruiter is not independent contractor if you perform services that can be controlled by an employer (what will be done and how it will be done). This applies even if you are given freedom of action. What matters is that the employer has the legal right to control the details of how the services are performed. (5)

Are They Employees

As Contract Recruiters, we are Independent Contractors. Our clients using our services, enjoy unique benefits such as costs, insurances and taxation. We provide our services to clients under terms specified in a contract or within a verbal agreement. Unlike an employee, an independent contractor does not work regularly for an employer but works as and when required, during which time he or she may be subject to law of agency.
